The Nonprofit Board & Leadership Education Series is designed for leadership and board members of local nonprofit organizations.

Candice is Director of Development for Roncalli Catholic Schools in Manitowoc for the past seven years. In her position she is responsible for events including the Roncalli Pierside Auction and the International Food Fair along with cultivating and maintaining donor relations through efforts such as the One by One Campaign. She holds positions with various community organizations as well. Giesen is a member of the Capitol Civic Centre Foundation, the Rahr-West Charitable Foundation, Rahr-West Art Museum Board, and the Board for Froedtert Holy Family Memorial, an affiliate of Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin.

In her role as Development Officer, Renee raises awareness and funds to support programs and services which directly benefit the elderly. She has enjoyed several decades of development experience in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. She serves on the Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors and is a founding Board of Directors member of Lakeshore PAW Pals. Renee understands the significance and necessity of raising money while using her heart to guide her personal approach to fundraising.

Kristin is the Senior Regional Staffing Specialist of ABR Employment Services. She served on the board of both United Way Manitowoc County and The Chamber of Manitowoc County. She continues to serve on the Human Resources Committee for both organizations. Her community involvement includes the Lakeshore Area Human Resources Association of which she was past president. Kristin was named Lakeshore Area Human Resources Professional of the Year by the Lakeshore Area Human Resources Association in 2007.

Joy is a professional with 25+ years of human resource experience at Lakeside Foods Corporate Office. She has experience in staffing, federal and state law compliance, employee benefits, compensation and payroll, onboarding and offboarding, and is generally the first point of contact for employees with questions on HR-related issues.

Ashley most recently led United Way through a successful rebranding process to help shape the organization’s 2021 – 2023 Strategic Plan, solidifying United Way’s new issue-focused business model.
