Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library enables United Way Manitowoc County to send a new high-quality, age-appropriate book each month to a child’s home at no cost to the family. If enrolled at birth, a child can receive their own personal library of 60 books. Research has shown that the number of books in a child’s home is significantly linked to reading scores – the more books, the better the score. For this reason, United Way Manitowoc County wants to help more children have access to books in their homes to help with their language and literacy development, giving them the proper tools to be successful in school and later in life.
